Everything's Ready
Captain Jack replied to Erika's email a few days ago, and it looks like he bought the lie completely! The "Copyright Cursin' Corsair" even said he'd bring a pumpkin pie!
We've been hard at work setting up decorations since we ate breakfast this morning. It's 3:00 P.M. now, and we've still got some finishing touches until we're completely finished. He's supposed to show up at 5:30, so we've still got time.
I told everyone to wear a costume so Captain Jack wouldn't be scared off by our Academy uniforms. Everyone had a costume except for Officer Ward. Luckily, Captain Wits had a spare chicken costume he didn't mind lending to Officer Ward. I'm not sure why Captain Wits had an adult-sided chicken costume in the first place, and I don't think I want to know.
Alrighty, I better get back down to the party to make sure everything's ready. Wish us luck!

Seriously?
I'm so disappointed in Erika. How could she be so selfish? And now I have to plan a Halloween party in a week? Thanks a lot, Erika. Now we've all got extra work to do because of you.

Time to Face the Music
I talked to Jax and Sparky. They weren't as helpful as I hoped. They told me to go to Officer Ward, which I guess is what I'll do. I just want him to know that I never wanted to cause all these problems. I never wanted to steal or to keep my friends from enjoying the Internet. I just wanted to see that stupid movie so I wouldn't feel left out. I hope he understands. I hope my friends forgive me.

What Do I Do?
Ok, so I'm getting really freaked out. The guy that runs the free download Web site just emailed me. Here's a copy of what he wrote:
- To: Erika
From: CaptainJack@Plunder.net
Subject: An Invitation
Ahoy me Bucko!
I've noticed ye be downloadin' a treasure trove of free files lately and I just wanted to say "welcome aboard". It always warms me salty heart to find another file pirate stealin' like meself. Since we're on the same boat, I'd like to extend an invitation to join my crew, the Bandwidth Buccaneers! Aye, me and me crew download what we want, no matter who it belongs to! Why pay good doubloons fer somethin' ye can take, right?
And just who am I to be leadin' such a group, ye ask? I'm Captain Jack Plunder, the File Filchin' Freebooter! The Dread Downloader! The Copyright Cursin' Corsair! Ye and me, bucko, we'll be the scourge of the Internet, or May scurvy take my beard! So what say ye? Will ye join me?
What do I do? I'm obviously not going to join him, but if I tell Commander Omni I'll get in so much trouble. I know! I'll ask Jax and Sparky! They'll know how to deal with criminals, right?

Something's Up.
OK, so I try to mind my own business.but something's up definitely up with Erika. Whenever I mention how slow the Internet's been lately she gets all fidgety and changes the subject. What's that about?
I think I'm going to sit her down and talk to her about it. I mean, I don't want to get her in trouble if she is somehow responsible, but I also don't want to wait an hour to download a file I need. Hopefully we can deal with it without getting the faculty involved.

Uh Oh.
I think I might be getting in over my head with these free downloads. At first, this Web site seemed like a great idea, but now I'm not sure. For one, I've been downloading so much lately that there's no way that I could pay for it even if I wanted to. Secondly, people are starting to notice how slow their Internet connection has been lately, which means it's only a matter of time before someone figures out it's because of me.
That's it. I'm just going to uninstall this program and no one will ever know. I guess I should delete the free music and movies too.
