A Helpful Hand

I love helping people! Dana was really upset with Captain Wits for crushing part of her garden to make room for his bee hives, so she asked me for help. My first step in getting them to compromise was talking to Captain Wits about why Dana was upset.

I found Captain Wits tearing up another section of garden to make room for another beehive. After I yelled for him to stop and explained that Dana had already planted where he was digging, Captian Wits looked really surprised. He had no idea! He went to find Dana to apologize for what he’d done.

Dana was sitting in the cafeteria by herself angrily eating a bowl of cereal. Captain Wits walked up to her with his hat off and a sad look on his face. He explained everything to her and offered to help Dana expand the garden and replant the vegetables. Dana looked up at him, smiled, and apologized for overreacting. She said she was happy the beehives were going in since they’d help pollinate the garden. She even offered to help him build the beehives after they were done planting!

See? All it takes is a little understanding and compromise to make everyone happy! Mission accomplished!

What an Earth Day!

So angry! I was heading outside to the garden to celebrate Earth Day when I noticed something was very wrong. Huge square sections of the garden were covered with blocks of concrete! I had just planted carrots, cabbage and beets there a week ago, and now they’re all crushed! I was about to scream when Captain Wits walked by and asked if I liked the bases for his new beehives.

I was so mad I couldn’t even answer him! I stomped out of the garden and went up to my room to write this blog. Ugh! I need to calm down before I talk to Captain Wits about his beehives. I know he didn’t crush my vegetables on purpose, but it’s still frustrating that all my hard work was wasted. Erika just came in. I’m going to ask her what she thinks I should do.
