So Long, Yoko
I had a great time hanging out with Yoko while she was here. I wish she didn’t have to go back to Japan! We built snow people (that’s right, not just snowmen) and watched so many holiday specials that, by the end of the week, we could recite every line. It was awesome!
But...now I have to put that behind me and get ready for a new semester. Maybe after I graduate from here I’ll visit her in Japan. It’d be great to stay there for a while and really absorb their culture. Oh well, I guess I ought to leave my future plans for the future. For now, I really need to get focused. School’s the rule!

OMG!
Captain Wits, you’re the best!
So I woke up this morning to a loud knock on my door. I rushed out of bed, flung the door open, and in front of me was a huge present wrapped in the most beautiful blue paper tied up with a white ribbon. The tag just said “To: Alexi, From: Captain Wits. OPEN IMMEDIATELY”. I looked up and down the hallway, but no one was there.
I reached down and undid the ribbon slowly, not sure of what was in the strange present. Suddenly, the box burst open and something grabbed me before I could even react! I screamed, but whatever was grabbing me just squeezed tighter and tighter, laughing the whole time. Then it came to me. I knew that laughter!
It was Yoko! I hugged her back twice as hard, and we just stood there together laughing for what seemed to be like hours. Then, I heard a voice down the hall say quietly, “Ah, I see you found your present. Hope you like it…I think I lost the receipt.”
Captain Wits, thank you so much. This is the best present ever!

Weirder than Usual…
Captain Wits was very weird today. I know, I know, being weird is normal for him. Which I guess would mean that if he acted normal, that would be weird. So really…Captain Wits was acting normal-er that usual…I mean, he was really weird for a normal person. Ow, that hurt my head.
He walked up to me in the middle of study hall and said that he got a great present for everyone in the Academy, but that I’d be particularly excited to see it. That’s weird, right? Or am I just thinking that it’s weird because it’s coming from Captain Wits?

Happy NCSAM!!!
I know it’s supposed to be a big holiday around here, but how exactly are we supposed to celebrate? I mean, we’re already very aware of cybersecurity here at the Academy. Maybe we should decorate a tree or light some candles or send each other cards or something. Or maybe if we leave a thumb drive under our pillows, the Cyber Fairy will install an unbeatable firewall on them!
What do you other cadets think? What would be some cool new National Cybersecurity Awareness Month traditions we could start? I know “new traditions” doesn’t make much sense, but hey, every tradition starts somewhere!

So....
I hate to complain, but…I’m bored now! It was scary when it was happening, but time travelling was so exciting! Now that we’re stuck back in normal, blah times, I just find myself really uninterested with the day-to-day events. I hope something exciting happens soon. Maybe not time travel exciting, you know, but a big shake up would be nice!
I hear Ex-Commander Nils is back in the picture! At least that’s something strange I can spend time puzzling about. I wonder what his motives are? Is he setting us up for a big attack by pretending to be our friends? Is he really trying to do good deeds again? I hope we find out soon, but not too soon. Half the fun is in the wondering!

Eureka!
I think I’ve figured out how to defeat the Bad Hatter! The trick to figuring out a solution was to look at our situation like a puzzle. What pieces do we have? How would they fit together to make a big picture? Do we start with the edges or just try to match colors? Wait, not that last one. That one only works on jigsaw puzzles.
I’d tell you all about our solution, but he’s probably reading these blogs to see what we’re up to. It’ll take some time to create the tech we need while using these old machines, but everything should be ready soon enough!

Beach Weather!
Sunshine! Sand! Salt Water! Sudoku! I LOVE THE BEACH! All I need is my ridiculous big, floppy hat and some sunscreen and I’m ready to go! Oh. Maybe a towel. And a swimsuit. Some sunglasses. Oh! And a comfy pair of flip flops. And a cooler full of goodies. And an umbrella, too. Should I bring my mp3 player, too?
Ugh, why do I always feel like I should rent a moving van whenever I go to the beach? Nothing like carting half your stuff to the ocean to get away from it all…
Maybe I’ll just bring a towel and some sunscreen. That way I can enjoy the beach for what it is – a quiet place to RELAX! I hope the water’s not too cold…
